I think these days it's very hard to say that React with Next.js is fully SPA. I think it's somehow a hybrid nowadays given that some components can now be rendered in the "server". But to answer your question, the apps that I build nowadays lean more on the SPA side.

I tried JSP with Java before however I didn't like much the developer experience.
